Universe Corner takes privacy very seriously, especially given the sensitivity of some data we handle. This statement explains how we process your personal data and how we expect you to handle any personal data you encounter on our sites. Please read it carefully before using any of our sites, as it concerns the use of your personal information. Pay special attention to the "Photos and Images" section: by accepting this Privacy Statement, you explicitly consent to any images you upload to our sites being reviewed by moderators outside the U.S. via a web browser under strict controls. All your data, including photos, will continue to be stored on servers in the U.S.

Universe Corner staff will never ask you for your password. Please help protect your privacy by keeping your password secure and not sharing it with anyone.

Depending on which of our sites you use, we may collect, use, store, and transfer different types of personal data about you, grouped as follows:
- Identity data: First name, last name, username or similar identifier, marital status, title, date of birth, and gender.
- Contact data: Billing address, email address, and telephone numbers.
- Financial data: Bank account and payment card details.
- Transaction data: Details of payments to and from you, and other specifics about products/services purchased from us.

We collect data from you:

We may also hold personal data about you if you:

- Placed advertisements with us.
- Are a Universe Corner supplier.
- Recently entered our competitions.

When creating a profile on Smore, we ask you to disclose special category personal data about your sexual orientation and sex life, enabling you and other members to find people with similar interests.
You may also optionally disclose your ethnicity and attitude toward safer sex. If you choose not to disclose these, they will not appear on your profile, and you won’t show up in searches specifying these attributes.
Special category data on your profile is visible to all other members, including those who have joined but not yet created a profile.
You can request a link (URL) to access your profile from the web. If you choose this, be aware that your personal data—including special category data—will be visible to anyone on the Internet who has or guesses your URL. When using this URL, only images in your Main Photos Gallery and thumbnails from other public galleries are shown.
When you visit our sites, Google sets standard Google Analytics cookies to help us evaluate site usage. You can see which cookies are set for this purpose in the "Google Analytics Cookies" section.
We also set cookies and store information in your browser to return you to your last position on Smore and remember your password (if you use this option). These cookies and our use of browser storage are described in "Universe Corner Cookies and Browser Storage".
Third-party sites may set cookies if you click their ads. Universe Corner does not control these cookies, but you can manage them via browser settings. Links to browser instructions are in "Changing Your Cookie Options".
When Google verifies your registration is not from a bot or spammer, it sets a reCaptcha cookie. More information on reCaptcha use is in the "Automated Decision-Making" section.
Use of our services is restricted to individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children under 18.
If we have reason to believe you are too young to join, we will immediately suspend your account and request proof of age. Until you provide satisfactory proof of being 18+, you cannot access non-public areas of the site. If age proof is not provided within the required timeframe, your data will be permanently deleted, except for minimal data needed for security purposes.
On Smore, we use collected data to fulfill our contract with you and provide services, including:
- Creating your profile.
- Helping you find and interact with other members.
- Uploading and managing photos.
- Providing news and opinions.

We do not combine your payment information with your Smore profile—only the fact that you have paid is recorded.
Data collected during face-to-face interviews and user workshops is used to improve our products.
If you are a supplier, photographer, or model for us, we may hold your contact details, contracts, and other work-related information, retained as needed for accounting, legal, and contractual purposes.
Part of our revenue comes from ads on our sites and apps, including sponsored member messages and news articles, enabling us to offer some services for free. All ads are booked through our in-house advertising department to ensure relevance to our members. Universe Corner manages its own ad server, hosted by a specialist company. We only send aggregated statistics to advertisers, never sharing your personal data. Clicking an ad link may take you to the advertiser’s site, where this Privacy Statement no longer applies—please read their privacy statement carefully.
Your data is uploaded to servers located in U.S. data centers.
Any photos you upload are accessed by our partner company to check compliance with our Terms and Conditions and legal standards. Note that this partner accesses photos from outside the U.S.
We process your IP address and date of birth to determine eligibility for Smore. Your IP address may resolve queries, and your date of birth calculates your age for your profile.
We process your chosen member name and password to secure access to Smore and your profile data.
Your profile data is used to create a page allowing fellow members to get to know you.
When purchasing or renewing a premium membership or gifting one, your payment data is sent directly to our payment provider, who gives us access to transaction details—used in exceptional cases to confirm your identity if you contact us with issues.
We employ multiple security measures to limit loss, damage, misuse, and tampering of information under our control. Collected information is stored on secure U.S. servers protected by physical and electronic security. Your personal data is encrypted and stored on encrypted drives.
Procedures are in place to handle suspected personal data breaches, and we will notify you and applicable regulators as legally required.
Photos uploaded to Smore must meet standards in our Terms and Conditions or mobile app provisions. Stored on U.S. servers, they are accessed via browsers at fixed IP addresses of our partner company (located outside the U.S.). Universe Corner contracts with this company for highly trained staff who respect privacy laws and classify photos quickly to make them available in your galleries with acceptable delay. Access IP addresses are controlled by us, and photo classification uses software developed and provided by us, running on U.S. servers. Photos are stored in the U.S. and not permanently elsewhere. Image rules are in the help article on Photos and Galleries—non-compliant images are deleted. You can decide to make images public, move them to a private gallery, or delete them, though classification may automatically move them to a private gallery.
We use proprietary algorithms and a secure third-party service to detect spammers and abuse. If you believe you were wrongfully denied an account, you may request a manual eligibility assessment by contacting our Customer Service Team. Once manually assessed, Universe Corner’s decision is final. We retain minimal data from refused applications to enhance algorithm protection for our members.
Access to your data is restricted to staff needing to provide and maintain our services. We will notify you if we need to access your data, unless prohibited by law. Note that some staff are also genuine site members acting in a personal capacity.
To provide the best service, we may share your personal data with third parties listed in this Privacy Statement:
- Our payment processing partner uses industry-standard SSL technology to encrypt information between you and their servers, ensuring secure purchases.
- A third-party partner checks minimal information about your service connections to prevent fraud and abuse, adhering to GDPR without publishing or sharing this information.
- Partner companies access your photos via SSL for classification (compliance and quality) within limited timeframes, with access restricted to specific IP addresses and authorized personnel.
We require all third parties to respect data security and process information legally. They may not use your personal data for their own purposes, only for specified purposes as instructed by us.
